Why You Feel What You Feel
Understanding the Three-Step Framework
Before you can untangle an emotional situation, you need to understand what creates it.
In this session you'll learn:
- The Three-Step Process
- Feeling
- Need
- Strategy
- Why most people lose touch with their feelings and needs
- The relationship between unmet needs and nervous system dysregulation
- How fight, flight, freeze, and fawn impact emotional situations
- How to assess your current ability to identify and meet your needs
- The difference between a situation and your interpretation of that situation
- How beliefs, past experiences, conditioning, and core wounds influence perception
You'll leave understanding:
"My emotional reaction isn't coming from the event itself. It's coming from what the event means to me."
Week 2
Finding the Feeling Beneath the Story
Most people can tell you what happened.
Very few can tell you what they're actually feeling.
This session helps you reconnect with your body's emotional intelligence.
You'll learn:
- The difference between thoughts and feelings
- How to use the Feelings List effectively
- How emotions show up physically in the body
- How to identify emotional triggers
- Why intellectualizing emotions keeps you stuck
- How to allow emotions instead of suppressing, avoiding, numbing, or fixing them
- How feelings point toward unmet needs
You'll leave able to:
- Identify what you're feeling
- Recognize where emotions live in your body
- Understand the needs underneath your emotional reactions
Week 3
Listening Differently: Hearing What Isn't Being Said
Most people listen to words.
You'll learn how to listen for what is underneath the words.
This session focuses on understanding yourself and others at a much deeper level.
You'll learn:
- How to hear feelings hidden beneath stories
- How to identify unmet needs in conversations
- Why criticism, blame, anger, withdrawal, and defensiveness are often expressions of unmet needs
- The difference between requests and expectations
- How to create strategies that honor your needs
- How to apply the Three-Step Process to real-life situations
You'll leave able to:
- Decode emotional situations more quickly
- Communicate with greater clarity and empathy
- Understand others more deeply
- Create healthier strategies for getting your needs met

This workshop is not designed to heal core wounds, trauma, limiting beliefs, or subconscious patterns.
However, you'll begin to recognize how those deeper influences shape your interpretations, reactions, and emotional experiences.
Think of this workshop as the foundation.
You'll learn how to identify what's happening in the moment.
Future work can help you understand why those patterns developed in the first place.
