But they fail to address the invisible. 

First of all, they don't address what's going on inside your body: the changes in your hormone levels, metabolism, muscle mass, and bone density as you age—all of which affect your appearance. 

Secondly, they don't address this critical topic: your relationship with yourself. This relationship is one of the inner causes of weight gain—the emotional or spiritual issues that cause you to struggle with your weight and health. 

You're not a bank account—you're a chemistry lab. That's why it's time to start over.

Before I explain, I'd like to share my story with you, so you know how I'm qualified. 

I'm JJ Flizanes, Empowerment Strategist, author of Fit 2 Love: How to Get Physically, Emotionally, and Spiritually Fit to Attract the Love of Your Life, and host of the Fit 2 Love Podcast Show. I'm on a mission to transform the meaning of the word "fitness" to include not just the state of a person's physical body, but also the emotional, mental, and spiritual factors which affect a person's overall well being. 

My story as it relates to this topic started when I was thirteen, and puberty hit. I was one of the only girls in class with hips and breasts, and I felt ugly. As a cheerleader for my junior high school, I was considered a "base," because I had hips someone could use as stairs to climb onto my shoulders. I knew from the beginning I was too heavy, too curvy, to experience being a "flyer"—one of the girls on top of the pyramid. 

I know what it's like to feel shame for your body. Yet, feeling awkward and ugly strengthened my self-esteem, because I was forced to focus on other aspects of my talent and intelligence. 

In 1996, I worked in the gym as a receptionist, and I found myself attracted to how strong the female body could look. But it wasn't just about the outside. I was drawn to how I interpreted that would feel. 

I decided to pursue an education in personal training and from the beginning; I focused on science and how to apply it to our bodies to make changes and improvements. 

As I learned more about biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and physics, I developed a profound regard for my body for the miracle and perfection it is. I love my body!

This doesn't mean I always love the way it looks on the outside! In fact, I've had to learn, and keep practicing, radically and unapologetically loving myself.

What this does mean is that I'm at peace with my body and my purpose. 

And my purpose is to guide you in incorporating into your health journey everything visible as well as invisible—joints, hormones, digestion, stress levels, and emotions, mind, and spirit.
